Camp Burton Retreat
2010
Camp Burton Spinning Retreat
The 17th annual Camp
Burton Retreat on Vashon Island will be held Thursday March 11th
through Sunday March 14th, 2010 so be sure and mark your
calendars. This is an unstructured weekend for spinning, knitting,
yakking, eating and walking.
Camp Burton is a short ferry ride from West Seattle, Tacoma or
Kitsap County. The camp overlooks Quartermaster Harbor and has cabins
with heat, carpeted floors, dormitory style and usually 6 to a cabin
with shared bathroom facilities. The new Retreat Center is available,
with accommodations for three in a room. The food is wonderful and the
people extraordinary. There will be no evening treats provided but we
may bring treats if we want them. See the Registration Form for fees.
We will have vendors ready to meet your fiber needs. Hope to see you there.
Please direct questions to Alice Lake

Fiber with a Twist 6th Annual Spin-in
Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 10:00am to 4:00pm
Richland Community Center
500 Amon Park Drive
Richland WA 99352
Cost: $5 Bring potluck
item. (There's no refrigerator available.)
This is a spin-in and much more. The mission is to have fun while using fiber. So anything goes, from
traditional to unheard-of. There will be vendors with fiber and tools.
This function is organized by local members of Northwest Regional
Spinners' Association, NWRSA But we are also members of Desert Fiber
Arts, so it's only natural that this spin-in takes on the more
eclectic flavor of DFA.
The setting is beautiful in a large conference room with floor-to-ceiling
windows on the wall facing the park. We'll be able to move outdoors
onto the large patio as the weather allows.
What a great venue to introduce a friend to the fiber arts.
There will be mini-classes and demonstrations.
It's a day to play with fiber arts! Bring your handwork and join the
fun!
